The 21st Chinse University Climbing Championships was successfully held in Laixi, Shandong from August 3rd to 7th. Our college's athlete won the championship of the Chinese University Climbing Championships. This competition is hosted by the Chinese Student Sports Federation, the Mountaineering Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, and the Chinese Mountaineering Association. It is executed by the University Climbing Branch of the Chinese Student Sports Federation and organized by the Laixi Sports Center. Nearly 400 athletes from 63 universities including Peking University, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), and Shanghai Sport University participated in the competition.
Teacher Li Yanfei served as the team leader and coach, while student Fan Zhibo signed up to participate in the competition. Due to participating in this competition for the first time and having only one athlete, our collegel was not favored by other representative teams before the competition. But Fan Zhibo remained calm and composed on the field, performed steadily, and ultimately defeated strong opponents, winning the championship of the difficulty competition in Group A and B with a significant advantage, achieving a good result of winning the gold medal in the first match.
During the preparation period, Fan Zhibo actively participated in training and persisted in studying techniques on the climbing wall every day to ensure his technical and physical reserves for the competition. On the competition field, he bravely rose up and fought tenaciously, demonstrating the good spirit and excellent sports skills of students from JMI.
