Recently, the Foreign Student Education Management Research Committee of Jiangsu Higher Education Association announced the list of excellent courses and social practice activity bases for Chinese national education for international students in Jiangsu universities in 2025. Our college’s Understanding Nanjing course was successfully selected as an excellent course for Chinese national education, and the Zhenghe Maritime Culture Museum was awarded as an excellent social practice base. A total of 27 excellent courses and 42 practical bases were selected in the Jiangsu province, making our college one of the few colleges to win both awards at the same time.
The course of Understanding Nanjing is a carefully crafted characteristic project of Chinese national education for international students by our college, and a systematic online course system has been established. This course guides international students to deeply perceive the unique charm of Nanjing, a historical and cultural city, through immersive cultural experiences, and then understand the profound heritage of excellent traditional Chinese culture. As a practical education base, the Zhenghe Maritime Culture Museum will fully leverage its characteristic resource advantages and carry out rich and colorful national education activities for students studying in China from all over the province. Through various forms such as physical exhibitions and interactive experiences, vividly showcase the heroic feat of the great Chinese navigator Zheng He's seven voyages to the West, and systematically spread China's long-standing maritime culture and open and inclusive maritime civilization concept.
This double selection marks an important breakthrough in our school's education for international students studying in China. JMI will take this as an opportunity to further integrate high-quality educational resources, innovate teaching models, provide multi-dimensional and three-dimensional learning experiences for international students, and lay a solid foundation for the upcoming international student education certification work, promoting the new leap of our college's international education level.
