In order to broaden the employment channels for college graduates, we actively promoted the special action of Secretary and President Visiting Enterprises and Expanding Posts, and improved the cooperation and exchange platform between JMI and enterprises. From December 1 to 2, Liu Hongming, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, led a team to pay a special visit to seven shipping enterprises in Nanjing. Relevant leaders from the Students’ Affairs Office, the School of Navigation Technology, the School of Marine Engineering and Intelligent Engineering, e accompanied the investigation.
Liu Hongming led the team to visit Nanjing Xinhai Ship Management Co., Ltd., Top Wisdom Shipping Management Co., Ltd., Nascrew Manning Service Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Huahai Ship Management Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Xinglian Shipping Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Far East Shipping Co., Ltd., and Nanjing Jinjianye Shipping Co., Ltd. The main leaders of the companies participated in the research activities.
During the survey, Liu Hongming conveyed the purpose and significance of the special action of visiting enterprises, introduced the development and majors setting of JMI, and the employment of graduates in the past two years. He hoped that enterprises would open up more high-quality jobs, and further strengthen college-enterprise cooperation in cooperative cultivation, achievements transformation, etc.
The representatives of the enterprises all said that the special visiting activity has provided human resources for the development of enterprises, and also brought a lot of valuable information. In the future, they will further strengthen cooperation with our college, select excellent captains, chief engineers and management backbones to participate in career education and specialized course teaching, strengthen students' professional faith, and jointly contribute to the training of talents in the waterway transport industry.
During the survey, Liu Hongming had an in-depth conversation with the alumni to get to know their work and development, and encouraged them to be down-to-earth and contribute to the company with their knowledge.
Through this visit, JMI has established a closer cooperation relationship with the shipping enterprises in Nanjing. JMI will continue to take the strategy of going out and inviting in to visit more enterprises and expand their posts, so as to help graduates get more full and high-quality employment.
